Roger Millar '61

For more than 40 years, Roger has supported Webb at leadership levels, including a recent capital gift for the museum’s Hall of Life renovation. Leading by example has been a mantra in the Millar family for more than a generation. Roger’s father, Richard, served as a Webb Trustee from 1959 to 1962, and during that time supported the school with some of its earliest major gifts.
Fast forward and Roger is leading by his father’s example, inspiring participation from his classmates to be leaders within the alumni community. Roger once wrote to his classmates, “I am honored that you continue to give back to a place that gave us so much.” That sentiment has motivated him to do even more. Roger recently made a provision of $200,000 in the form of an irrevocable bequest to benefit the Raymond M. Alf Museum of Paleontology and The Webb Schools.
It is Roger’s hope that his decision will inspire others to think back on their own Webb experience and “give back to a place that gave us so much.” As always, he is willing to lead the charge, and Webb is forever grateful to Roger and his family for their enthusiasm and generosity in the early days, today, and for supporting generations to come.
